FollowingGerman reunification\u00a0in 1990, the city was once more designated as the capital of all Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Berlin is a world city of culture, politics, media, and science, hosting 147\u00a0foreign embassies.<sup id=\"cite_ref-13\">[13]<\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-14\">[14]<\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-15\">[15]<\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-16\">[16]<\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-17\">[17]<\/sup>\u00a0Its economy is primarily based on\u00a0high-tech\u00a0industries and the service sector, encompassing a diverse range of\u00a0creative industries, research facilities, media corporations, and convention venues.
